BYD Celebrates 1st Anniversary in Malaysia and BYD ATTO 3 Anniversary Limited Edition Launch

A pioneer in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, BYD is marking its first anniversary in the country with a series of remarkable accomplishments that are testament to its unwavering dedication to innovation, sustainability and customer satisfaction in a demanding market.

Currently among the top selling EV models in Asia, BYD’s journey in Malaysia began with the launch of the ground-breaking BYD ATTO 3 one year ago, receiving an overwhelming response with over 1,000 orders placed within the first 10 days, with 100 units successfully delivered during this initial period. It continued to break records by delivering 1,000 units of the electric vehicle within the first 100 days of its launch.  BYD's strength lies in its advanced manufacturing technology, exceptional design, and competitive pricing, making eco-friendly mobility more accessible for Malaysians. In July 2023, BYD established itself as Southeast Asia's leading EV manufacturer.

Showcasing its commitment to bringing its innovative EVs to Malaysians, BYD subsequently launched the BYD DOLPHIN in July 2023, its second all-electric vehicle for the nation’s passenger car market. The model boasts smooth acceleration, reaching 100km/h in just seven seconds, powered by BYD's iconic Blade Battery technology.

In just one year, BYD has established a nationwide network, comprising state-of-the-art showrooms and service centres in the Klang Valley, including Ara Damansara, Glenmarie, TREC Kuala Lumpur, Setia Alam, Putrajaya, Balakong, and Cheras. This network ensures accessibility, convenience, and top-notch sales and aftersales services. Beyond the Klang Valley, BYD has expanded its presence to northern regions such as Alor Setar and Sungai Petani in Kedah, Penang Gurney, Butterworth, Ipoh, the southern region at Mid Valley Southkey Mall in Johor Bahru, and East Malaysia at Kuching OneCity Mall. To date, BYD boasts 14 showrooms and has enlisted 14 dealers nationwide. The phase 3 recruitment of dealers has been initiated with the aim of expanding to additional regions.

To further amplify its service offerings, BYD introduced several aftersales service packages, including Service Standard and Service Plus packages earlier this year. These packages ensure that every facet of after-sales service adheres to global benchmarks, guaranteeing BYD EV owners a seamless ownership experience. The company's digital initiatives further enhance customer service, providing convenient service center location finding through the user-friendly BYD mobile application and technician-performed service diagnostics.

The year also saw Sime Darby Beyond Auto, the official authorised distributor of BYD in Malaysia, joining forces with Scientex Berhad to formalise their commitment to championing the widespread adoption of EVs and seamlessly integrate EV charging facilities into affordable housing developments.
